One issue at my work place is one worker who tells me go to university, they say that my current job is a dead end job and I am going to be stuck there for fifty years, that to them, I am a good example of what not to do.
I am fairly sure there is plenty of learning to be done in so called dead end jobs, human relations skills, management skills and yes, learning what not to do (failing) and when the learning experience is finished and you feel like you should move on, do it! So the same people who tell me to stop reading books about Donald Trump and throw them out the window, are telling me it is a better idea to cram information from dry boring text books instead of reading inspirational books about successful people? That is like trying to fit twenty people in a five seat car, why go to university with a very narrow context? In most cases it is to get a JOB with a high salary, which is where the problem starts
In our jobs we are in an illusion, like kids playing a game of make-believe, so we keep on doing it and justifying it because everybody else is doing it. We end up being someones Lackie, a Donkey chasing a carrot which does not exist, drug addict chasing pink dragon for the ultimate high, more money is not nessesarily the problem, we just say we need it, and we buy things to fill a void as a way to escape self examination
So your idea is to retire at 65 or under? Saving a large cash sum and living off of it? Try sitting on a chair for three or more hours on your day off, without doing anything but basic life requirements. Now find some stretchy material and tie your feet close together, and put some around your neck like a scarf and tie it to your feet, not too tight but firm enough to be bent over. Now that you have had three hours of staring at a wall or out a window (at "Those damn kids on the road again!") Go for a little walk and make a sandwich. Do you feel like you are crazy? Is this worth waiting for? Listen to the voices telling you to do stuff, if you do nothing for long enough and (don't cheat by going to sleep) you start to realize that this voice is not you, getting past our ego may be one of life's largest challenges. Thoughts are just tools for the mind, but in modern society most of us humans have been bombarded with words and images in advertising and these thoughts have consumed our mind, a cultural wasteland. Then we associate with what we think, we believe it defines us. Thinking through words is just a small slither of consciousness.
We all need to stop watching television and go on a diet, a low information diet! It is okay to watch one or two shows a day, but most of the advertising and junk programs are not doing you very good.
We are all students of life, and we never stop learning, but I do not think i am ready for university or retirement just yet, there is just so much self improvement and living left to do
As robert kiyosaki says; "Jobs are a short term solution to a long term problem"
